How We Serve
Great Expectations Ministries Church has several areas of ministry that all have the same ultimate function and that is serving as Jesus served. We want to serve each other, our community, or wherever needed. As we serve one another, we learn that there is no gift that a man can bring, apart from the love of Christ and the Word of God, that will ever change or transform the heart and mind of another person. We desire to be a church where everyone is serving as God intended and designed them to serve (Matthew 28:18-20). Here are some ways that we serve as a church.
The word of the Lord according to 2Corinthians 5:17 says…”If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new”. This means that any and everything you’ve done while in the old man (sin) has been forgiven and you will have a new life, a new life in Christ. In order to experience this new life in Christ you must stay in His will and be obedient to His word (to live victoriously). When you place yourself in a Christian atmosphere that’s conducive to spiritual growth and maturity, that is all a part of living victoriously. This is the purpose of going to church, reading God’s word, fasting and praying. Don’t just be a good starter…be a good finisher.
When We Serve Others, We Serve God
Jesus Christ taught the first and the second commandments. He said, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart.” Then He said, “Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself” (Matthew 22:37, 39). We can obey these commandments by serving others.
